Ink OCT round 1

Normally I wait until it's like half a day left then post but HARGH It's awesome, though, that the judges are being so accommodating, I love that <3 But that's not gonna stop my anxiety from slapping its face against the screen and going wtfffffffffffffffffffff ILU JUDGES YOU'RE SO NICE <3 Was gonna wait again until the last minute to post but I'M TIRED OF DOING THAT



WATCH FIRST IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS: So the story behind this round cuz I think it's funny enough to share.

I pissed my pants when I saw who I was up against, then shat bricks when I saw their audition. I actually had a horrible block for half a month on wtf to DO with this round. I don't wanna godmod and just have my character go LOL I WIN SOMEHOW YAY, I wanna have a halfway decent story to go along with it (FAILOLOLOLOL) or at LEAST something entertaining (HOPEFULLY DIDN'T FAILOLOLOL).

I seriously could not think of a way for my character to win, I swear. It's not that Alice is too powerful, nope! I think she's awesome btw, I had so much fun drawing her and I threw in a verbal quirk for Jason, calling Dameon and it instead of a he which I figured is something he'd do y'know, not think of their opponent as a person but an obstacle 8DDD ANYWAY it was just the simple fact that put up in a fight between my character and Alice, Alice would win hands down. I almost tossed in the white flag too, which I'd hate to do cuz that feels unfair, dammit I gotta make SOMETHING for my opponents to giggle about! *pound fist against desk* >:U The only option that kept popping up in my head was to have him simply outrun her (which he actually had hope of pulling off), but that's not a win, that's just delaying a loss!

So moments away from giving up and forfeiting (or just making an entry where my character dies, still forfeiting but at least making a cool forfeit), it finally hit me and I backtracked on my story a bit. See in the original, Alexander pops out not long after he's first attacked by Alice, and instead of just knocking him over she actually stabs him in the shoulder. I could put up those sketches if you want, they were just doodles I drew while thinking O: Anyway, Dameon is more of a pussy than Alexander, so he ends up passing out and out pops Alexander instead! Unfortunately, Alexander really has no way of fighting Alice. He can run away and dodge like woah but that's about all he's good for, and he doesn't have super speed or anything, it's only automatic bursts of sudden energy giving his wings enough strength to fly sometimes that was saving his ass.

So I ended up backtracking, tossing out the idea of Alexander showing up so soon, and had it instead be Dameon the whole time. See, Dameon is more likely to accidentally use those wonderful beautiful magical powers, unlike Alexander. Alexander is only gonna probably end up using his wings, he has to KNOW about his weapons in order to use them because he simply almost never did regularly, so it's not even gonna come to him on accident. Dameon, however, was rather adept at using his weapon, so the chances of him instinctively trying to use it are shot way way up! Hence what's going on while Dameon is peeing his pants running from Alice!

So basically my only hope at winning was stabbing her in the freaking head o_o;;; I'm gonna be totally honest, in my entry, she's not killed, I'll tell you that right now. I don't know HOW resilient Alice is, but something tells me that while that blow is certainly damaging and very easily fatal, she can totally live through it and recover.

Backhanded scrabbling for the ending I wanted BUT HEY, MY CHARACTER WAS LABELLED AS ONE OF THE UNDERDOGS IN THIS ROUND FOR A REASON FFF OTL (he was labelled that before I even realized that it was true too I was like lolwut nawwwwwww-okay yeah)

TL;DR: Dameon: I shat bricks.
